Pygmy Hippo

I spent some time spring cleaning my desktop. Some pictures I have are placed on the 'Debris' folder that I created because I wasn't sure where to put them. This pic was taken during one of the many many zoo trips we took the girls to. At first I thought the pic not presentable but looking at it second time, it's not that bad.

If i'm not wrong this was the Pygmy Hippo I took when it was swimming underwater. Lea was a bit frightened by the sight but Rae kept on knocking on the glass. The glass is very thick and I think it is slighly magnified for visitors easy viewing. I do have more pictures that I want to post before I throw them out. Hopefully I can complete them in the next few days.

Email Chains

Many of us would have fallen victims of those email chains that we forward to our friends and family. They usually covers unique stories of the unbelievable kind and very doubtful too. However these email chains sometimes comes with photos or snapshots alongside the stories and makes these stories seemed so real. So are they real? Well lots of pictures circulating in the mail are hoaxes or doctored images. Some do it purely for attention, some do it to see how far their stories go and some do it with other agenda on their mind.

Many years ago, I received this one forwarded to me. I'm not sure if you've seen it, remembered it or even heard of it. Well there is a website called Break The Chain. It features a collection of those email chain stories and Snopes does a full post mortem of these stories to see if it is indeed true.

So do you think the picture featured here is a true story? You can read more about it here.

Singapore Zoo Animals

Here are some of the pictures taken while at the zoo recently. 1. Penguins 2. Zebras 3. Baboons

If you are an animal lover, The Singapore Zoo is a great place to be. Here the animals are kept in open spaces that are not captive-like at all. The ability to create moats and habitats within the zoo is so successful that the Singapore Zoo sees a good percentage of breeding taking place among the zoo animals. Some of these animals are also being sponsored by global and local companies to help upkeep or maintain the animals' food, shelter and maintainence.

Singapore White Tigers

The White Tiger has always been a popular mammal to visit while at the Singapore Zoo. I suppose when they say 'white', it is the same as an Albino tiger? Albino is a term given to a living person, or animal who are born with lack of melanin pigment in parts of the body or parts. They are vulnerable to the sun and require lots of sunscreen or to keep away from the sun as much as possible. The White Tiger in Singapore is really fascinating. I would go to see it without fail, every year.

This is probably such a poor pic of the White Tiger I took recently. This one below is extracted from Wikpedia under the Singapore Zoo category.
