Mighty Power!

I had another pleasant surprise today. My girls' Godma text me on my handphone.. She was telling me the girls were in the papers today.. So, excitingly I flipped the ST and yes, there it was, Rae and Lea on the home section in the local papers.

Well, for a start, I was blogging about my experience with a bank last month. When the bank saw my comment from my blog, they gave a surprise which was quite the envy of my friends. With my consent, I agreed to let them feature a story about my experience and the bank's prompt reaction to it. So it was in the papers today and I'm sure my girls will probably be The Star of the day at least, with their school friends. Check out the story below.

Also I would like to thank Shirley Chua for arranging all these and Jasmine Ong who dropped by with such nice chocolates, and lastly Nicholas Tan for the Mighty Savers' gifts. The girls have just turned into Die-hard Mighty Savers' Fans. (Picture of Lea on the right, doing a Mighty Savers' Power Stance).

Here is the feature story on the internet news.

Mightier than the Sword, Mighty Savers saves the Day!

What a surprise, a PLEASANT surprise, when I got back from lunch today. Well, I just had to do this, blog about it.

I came back, saw this man just at my doorstep with a registered letter. Aah, probably registered documents for Ah Boy. Sofiyah told me its a delivery from OCBC. This soft spoken man asked me to sign on the form, and said he delivered something. My maid said it was some parcel, I glanced in, saw 2 packs of stuff and saw some cartoon icons in bright red that looked familiar.. Oh! Those are Mighty Savers Stuff. I thought hard. Then, said to the man, I didn't realise this is coming because when I signed up my girls, I didn't read anything like that to be delivered to me. He smiled and muttered something like maybe I was their priviledged customer... I brushed it off because we have accounts with OCBC, but we aren't rich or had a gold mines under their care..

Lea, on the other hand was already busying herself with the package while I went on to open the letter that came with the courier form. I asked Sofiya and Lea not to tear it in case it's not for us and is sent to the wrong address. When I read it, I was just totally SPEECHLESS! Oh WOW!

Nicholas Tan, who heads the Group Wealth Management of OCBC just sent me a letter after reading my blog. YES! He READ MY BLOG! Is he a Blogger as well? Otherwise, how on earth did he find my blog. Had he been doing a search as part of his effort to improve sales, reviews about OCBC? Well, if he did, then I can honestly say, he, and his team did an excellent job because heartlanders and bloggers like us, are your customers after all. And we do bitch and moan about everyday things like errmmm... when things don't go our way.. hahaha *blushing with embarrasment.

Not only did he apologized for what happened during one of my visits to OCBC Bank, he also threw in a Mighty Savers Hamper for Rae and Lea to make up for their disappointment. Lea was home when the gifts came and she was just delighted! She screamed Mandy and the Mighty Savers!! Sally and Simon!! She went thru all the stuff as if she knew them all. She asked if it was because she saved a few dollars recently.

I would like to thank Nicholas Tan for the gifts he put together for Rae and Lea. You have done OCBC proud for the effort, excellent service and sales recovery. You'll be seeing more visits from Rae and Lea anyway because they are already halfway through their Mighty Savers' savings cards. But with the busy banking due to Chinese New Year season, the kids will have to wait.

P/S: Oh, and Yes, I shall email him a thank you note as well.
