Grassroots Games

Whenever my girls see these, they will ask to have a go at it. It is one of those local Theme Park fishing game which guarantees you a toy gift at every toad you managed to fish, with a number on it. I don't really like the look of these toad but because these are so cheap at only $2 a go, or $5 for 3 tries. Simple and sure win. My girls will fish one each and kakak gets to fish one. They got those cheap made in china prizes - two top sets and 1 spinner that can be released into the air. They felt happy to be able to accomplish such games.. Well it is better these way because those games at the themeparks are not easy for them. And they do get disappointed after many tries.

The next day, they wanted to have another go and they could exchange 3 winning toys with one bigger one. The prize was exchanged to a toy Cleaning Set for kids. Not a bad idea. This can be added to the Cleaning Trolley set for kids I got them about 2 christmas ago...

I have a friend who complains that they are still surfing using their dial-up modems. I did just that about 5 years ago before upgrading to a cable broadband in my area. I understand the frustrations she has as her downloads to view pages of websites takes a long time to load. Also I was unable to use skype with her to chat since her landline disconnects so frequently. Her son complaints that he is unable to go online and play games like his friends so he hops over to his friends house to play.

Well I believe her trouble may be over if she register to bid in the Charter's once in a lifetime High-Speed® Internet for Life. Boardgame Monopoly

Did you remembered playing Monopoly when you were young? Or even as an adult or even now? I did played them as a kid, but not anymore.. I have somehow forgotten how it really works.. faintly remembering that GO sign on a corner, and that unlucky Go to Jail thingy... I wasn't much of a good Monopoly player, mostly letting my sis or others monopolized the board building their homes and hotels everywhere. Monopoly seemed more corporate to me, and I prefered Cluedo anytime, maybe it's something about rebellious me, probably.

I was inpired to write this after an online chat with my old schoolmate GE who is in Penang, enjoying her Hokkien Mees and other Penang Delights. It's a shame we can't meet up this year since I couldn't make it home for CNY. GE and I have been pals for the longest time and I am looking forward for the day when I will visit her in Melb. For now, she is still enjoying her month long Chinese New Year break holidays from her nursing job in Melbourne. In case you are thinking of visiting in a few days of transit, I'd be willing to have you over.

So back to Monopoly. Rae had a Spongebob Monopoly given on her birthday last November. However, due to her mummy's reluctance to let her break open the bags of money and spill out all the 'beans', her Monopoly is kept intact, mint condition. I think it stems from the fear of seeing all that Monopoly 'money' and play stuff strewn all over and getting lost or missing that I have actually forbid her to open it up! hahaha.. I ever got her a cheap rendition of Millionaire game before and it was all over the house in 3 days. I even got the portable Roulette game for her (yeah, Mummmy's a gambler queen) and she lost the chips and silver ball bearings... sigh.. board games become a no no to me. Well until she knows how to play them.

But coming from GE's point of view, YES I DO AGREE. Monopoly may help my girl in her mental sums and the art of handling money. WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE??

Dinner Dash - Excuse Me, Are You A Waiter?

Strategy games and war-craft games are not really my cup of tea. Why? Because sometimes their graphics and illustrations are dark, too loud and can get a little confusing.. I like visuals and I like it appealing, a little child-like, actually. Catch me going to one of those kids website playing those little pac man games, that's the best I can do.

One good news was that I found a game site. You cannot believe how interesting and popular the game is. It is not about fighting and warriors. More like cartoons but within your control. After all my brains can't take anymore strategy games and all that crash, boom, slash. So what about this site?

Popularly known as Dinner Dash. The latest in this series is the Hometown Hero. An interesting game for all - cartoon based, stylised drawings and nice simple colours that are easy to the eye. The game is about this character Flo, a former stock broker who worked her butts out in the corporate world. She quits her desk bound job for a role putting on her aprons to serve and revitalise the ailing restaurant business of grandma. Just like real life, Flo faces the unpredictable tantrums and demands of her customers, and tries to keep her cool working in the restaurant taking orders, waiting on tables to making customers happy, to earn tips! Play it online or download it to your PC. It's really addictive!!!

Casino Online

During Chinese New Year, what do you think is the common game that most adults will get their hands into?

Well, for most of my colleagues - besides giving Red Packets and visitation, they take joy in gambling and mahjong. Last year, I made a trip to the casino for some lucky gambling. This year since I am not going back to my hometown, I sure miss the fun. However, all is not lost. I have the luxury of enjoying my Chinese New Year lucky gambling by going to online casinos. There are many games in Joyland Casino. From my favourite Roulettes to the various Jackpots to choose from. In this website you can also monitor the day's jackpot figures. Casino joyland has all the excitement I'd ever need without taking a 6 hourly trip to my usual casino joint.

If you have not tried out online casinos, you might want to surf into the website and read a little about it. Joyland Casino is a comphrehensive casino site with full security features. There is a help menu as well as and online support team for all your queries.
