Painted Skin

If you enjoy an exciting action thriller, perhaps you might want to catch this movie. Titled Painted Skin. This is directed by Gordon Chan, starring Vicky Zhao and Donnie Yen. A young man who fell into the trap of a young damsel in distress had been attracted to this woman. Little does he know that this woman is a 'ghost' who feeds on her lovers' skin and hearts. It will be in the cinemas on somewhere in the 3rd week of September. Too bad this film was not released earlier during the month of the Hungry Ghost festival. That would have been a lot of fun, actually.

Japanese Does It Better, Escape A Fart!

Okay, let's face it. Japanese can be very creative. Not only do they play tetris using their physical body (I watched it in Sotongbin's blog), they also do things like how to escape a fart. Watch this video. It's weird.. I wonder if they used effects.. but it's funny. They teach you the many ways how to run away from a fart. Unless you are super athletic and can do all that somersaults, I suggest, don't try to do this at home! hahaha.. But how do you escape your own fart when you are in a crowded place. Any tricks I know? Share your tricks, please.. Do the Japan television have funny gags like these all the time?

You can go to her blog at laozhabor.blogspot.com but before you do that you might want to watch this funny rap mtv that was done quite some time ago. Sharing with you all. Have fun and enjoy. I'm sure many of you who watched Jack Neo's movie will recognize her.

Don't forget to off the background music first, ya.

We Are Going To Ehub in Downtown East

School Holidays are still on in Singapore. We wanted to book a night for a barbeque and stay at the Pasir Ris chalet but the chalets are all fully booked! So Ah Boy and I decided we take a day trip there instead. Downtown East at Pasir Ris is a nice place for kids and adults. Of course if you can get a room for barbeque would be perfect. There are lots to do.

Water Theme Park - Wild Wild Wet,
Outdoor Theme Park - Escape Theme Park,
eXplorer Kid - where the kids can play indoor
Bowling Alley, Cinema, Kbox karaoke, lots of shopping and food outlets too.

The new wing called Ehub has been opened since the school holidays so i believe there will be lots to do in there. I can't wait to see what they have.

In April, through BDMM, I wrote a post about my favourite Artist of mine. Sheryl Crow. I've been listening to her music for many years and I really like her unique voice. Death Note, Japanese Manga in Movie

Fans of Japanese Manga Series, DeathNote fans would be pleased to know that a movie version by the title Death Note is available. A story about good turns bad from the influence of power is a good education in life. It revolves around a bored high school student, Light Yagami who found a mysterious notebook that had been misplaced by the God of Death, Ryuk. The notebook has a special supernatural power that will wipe out whoever that has his name listed on the notebook. Faced by the intention of killing all evil from earth, Light started to bring justice to his own hands. However, when he realized that he is being monitored suspiciously by the police, his greed and wants of keeping the notebook started him wiping out law enforcement agents.

Unknown
Like the movie? Well it will be screened in US, nationwide on May 20th and 21st, 2008. Don't miss your chance to watch it during these two days. Check out ifathom.com for a listing of the cinema near you.

I wouldn't mind having supernatural powers, frankly. Something like being able to move at lightning speed. I'm always short of time lately. It would be great to do things zippy with supernatural powers. Perhaps it is just my wishful thinking.

Fool's Garden - Lemon Tree LOVE IT OR HATE IT

I was in IMEEM recently looking for some songs when I saw a name Fool's Garden. Oh this was the group that made themselves suddenly popular in Asia with their one particular pop song - Lemon Tree, in 95 or 96, more than a decade ago. I'm not sure how many of you have heard that song but I believe there were also different catchy tunes of this song in other languages too.

Fool's Garden is a German Pop Group that was formed way back in 1991. Their debut album, Fool's Garden was dedicated to John Lennon and it featured a Beatles' song "Cry Baby Cry."

I searched for their hit song Lemon Tree and listening to it brings me back to working during the mid to end 90's with some British colleagues and what was astonishing was that although this song was met with disapprovals, by the end of the week, everyone was hilariously humming and singing to it's catchy beat.

Here is the video for memories, for your listening pleasure. *wink*

Watch Frontier(s) with your Best Friend

I've just made a date with my good friend to watch Frontier(s). Frontier(s) is the horror flick that we are planning to see when it hits the theater on 9th of May soon. This show is definitely going to bring you sitting at the edge of your seat. It has enough of gory, blood and spine chilling parts enough to make a grown man weak in the knee. This story revolves about the only lady and the several men who are crooks and how they tried to escape from the police. They succeeded in running away and hideout is in a hostel, unknowingly owned by a group of neo-Nazi cannibals. Well their hideout got them into more trouble when they find themselves trapped and being staked by these cannibals.

Unknown

Watching the trailer is also kinda spooky. The sound effects are great and the scenes are very dark, mysterious and creepy. This movie, by French writer-director Xavier Gens, is not rated. Unrated movies usually do not get into the big screens in the theater but this one got it. It's set to be a "Die For" horror-suspense-thriller that is set to spook the world by storm. Not suitable for those under 16 years of age. Grab your girlfriend, boyfriend, spouse or anyone who is bolder than you. You will need it! Time for me to select theater listings. The DVD will be released just days after the theater's release. View the trailer now and you will know why it's going to be one that you will remember for a long time.

Frontier(s) is a New Horror To Die For

I am a fan of suspense and horror films. Shows like that thrill me to bits. It is always nice to watch them in the middle of the night if you have a good HD TV and sound system. Otherwise it is better to get to the cinema since their sound system and environment is maximized to keep us focused and as closed as possible to the show environment.

There is a new horror movie set to be released on 9th of May. Titled - Frontier(s), the movie is about a gang of crooks who ran from the police after a heist that had gone terribly wrong. They made their way towards an old dingy hostel for a hide out. During the hide out, they find themselves in trapped in the company of a family of neo-Nazi cannibals who owned the building. Freaky cannibals now hunting them out for a full feast, these bunch of crooks now find themselves in a harrowing escape clearly in fear.

This movie runs about 1 hour and 48 minutes. Lots of gory and bloody scenes, this movie is not suitable for those under 16 years. Brought to you by writer-director Xavier Gens, this is classified under the horror genre with lots of Gothic scenes in outlying Paris suburbs. The actors are Karina Testa, Samuel Le Bihan, Estelle LeFebure, Aurelian Wilk, David Saracino, Chems Dahmani, Maud Forget, Amelie Daure, Rosine Favey, Adel Bencherif, Joel Le Francois and Patrick LeGardes.

Who is this Artiste?

Last weekend, the mall was terribly packed. The crowd was as if there was some artiste or concert with cameras and girls in groups. I went over to check it out and saw that there was a platform stage and lots of cordoned area and many security personnels. Many people who were there were carrying a small book a little squarish and smaller than an A4 paper. I also saw premiums, posters and books on sale. So many were busy taking photos and the reporters were all flashing their lights at the stage. There was a table and people were queing up, guided by the security personnels to go up to this STAR, shake his hands, some gave gifts, flowers and some took pictures.

So what was it about. I figured the autograph session must be a launch of a new book? It was a Chinese book with lots of photos. But since I couldn't read chinese and don't recognise who this STAR is, I just figured he must be a popular Author.

I took some pics myself and of the crowd. Yesterday, i checked with Dragon about this STAR since he does read chinese books and comics. Showed him some pics and he told me it was no book author but a singing artiste.

So any of you recognize this Artiste?

DVD Vending Machine

I was running an errand last week when I spotted this under a block of flats nearby. I went to it, thinking that it was an atm machine or perhaps a vending machine for drinks which is common at the void decks. Upon closer inspection did I realised that it was a vending machine for dvds. Well, how convenient. I've seen something like near some shophouses along Sixth Ave when I go there for my Roti Pratas but those were a different vendor. This dvd vending machine has a twin monitor so that two can borrow instead of waiting in line for one to finish.

I've not tried it because I usually borrow my dvds from Winstar in a mall. But I do think this is convenient especially in the middle of the night when you have friends over and might want to watch some movies together.

Ellen Degeneres on the Hawaii Chair

Does any of you watch Ellen? I'm a great fan of hers. I used to watch her sitcom on tv. (I think that was titled Buy the Book) She is naturally funny, perhaps that is why she make a great host and stand up comedian. I try to catch Ellen on TV every now and then on Channel 5 at 5pm daily. Really prefer her shows compared to Oprah's talkshow.

I managed to watch one particular funny one where she featured the Hawaiian Chair in it. The Hawaiian Chair is a classic mobile fitness chair and seemed like they still have something like that around since her show is current. Does it help one to be fit? Not so sure, but it sure is hilarious and probably evoke other ideas instead.. LOL

Look at this clip I managed to find on YouTube. This one really got me in stitches!
WOULD YOU BUY THE HAWAII CHAIR?

Penelope Premiums Package has arrived!

The mail came with a big package for me today.... Looking at it, it was something I was expecting. Sometime in February, through BDMM, I was given the opportunity to write a movie preview on a show, Penelope. Penelope is a romance about a young girl(Christina Ricci), and her struggle to find real love and independance with an ugly secret she had harboured since birth. This show takes you through romance, betrayal in a fairy tale storyline.

So what is in my package, I was also eager to find out. There was a novel ( YES! I love to read before watching a movie, usually), an original motion picture soundtrack on Penelope, a $20 value entertainment card for AMC theatres, and a nice shawl just like what Penelope has in the movie and a nice thank you note! WOW! I didn't know I'd be getting that many stuff. It was worth the review.

If you have a blog and would like to make some money, - join BDMM, it's open for new blogs again.

Tickets For Popular Events And Concerts

Some of the best tickets for sporting events and shows are sold out as soon as words are spread. Fans queue up for days and nights so that they can get tickets to watch their favourite idols. It is also quite impossible to buy tickets for a good seat for popular events like the French Open Tennis. There is going to be one to be held in Paris from the 25th May through 8th of June 2008. There are going to be lots of havoc and unpredictable results as players will be playing on the clay courts in Roland Garros, known as one of the most beautiful tennis venues in the world.

How do you make sure you can get tickets if you are not free to purchase them? I know of a good and established ticket broker, called needaticket which provides the best service. Their prices for tickets are reasonable and you can be sure to get your tickets on time. They specialize in categories like Sports, Concerts and Theatre. They also update their website frequently so that you won't miss any popular upcoming events, such as Westlife and Celine Dion concerts to be held at Croke Park this year. Check them out.

But not these.. I just dont want the girls bringing home germs in the house.. But they got to ride on the other stuff. All at $2 per go.

5 year old Blind Girl on Piano

I enjoy sourcing for videos of kids playing the piano. They are a source of inspiration for my seven year old as she loves the piano but not getting enough exposure from watching her peers playing. The symphony orchestras are good but is not really solo piano. Sometimes her school has piano recitals and concerts but the time usually clashes with her dance class.

I saw this video one day when I was watching some young kids playing. This video is about a blind 5 year old girl from Korea who plays the piano so well, she truly has the gift. Watch it and see how good she is.

Funky Mua'Dib

If you are into funks, you should really check out this band - Mua'Dib And The Awakening. This group was founded in late November 2005. For such a short time they really did a professional job in coming together and performing like as if they have been in the business for decades.

I listened to 3 of their tracks and I really really liked it. They really have alot going for them, a good future. You should really listen to the bass lines in the songs, which is my favourite. My favourite is Take it all away but at the same time Dead Song was really good too. There was a good mix of balance in vocals and guitars and it does brings me back to the funky retro mix and a little bit of rock icon - Jimi Hendrix. Their music is really funky and sexy. If you believe in the band, you should send them your support in Sellaband.com
