Flea Marts and Stuff

We were in town near to where all the flea markets were. It was at the Bencoolen area. Or rather, Fu Lo Shou building and near where the Kwan Im Temple was. The place was really crowded during lunch. Alot of people goes there as devotees to the temple and also to shop or browze for flea market stuff.

This is also the place where you can find many things that are related to Feng Shui too. Many shops in the buildings: The Bencoolen, Fu Lo Shou and Albert Complex sell Crystals, Gemstones, Feng Shui trinkets, Feng Shui figurines, and more. I enjoy looking at these products but I cannot stand the crowd. Alot of the business owners are also from China. This is where my handicap gets bigger, since I only speak limited Mandarin.
And most of the time, they complain that the Singaporean Mandarin is very weak. There are also many Street Peddlers who displays their ware and also perform some little demonstration in their products. It is really interesting if you watch how they do their demo. Some does it with a lot of drive. Some does it slow and easy.

I know exactly what you mean as a parent of a going-to-be-two year old. But i have this fear within me that this generation we're rearing is going to be spoilt. Not sure what we can do about that...
