Singapore celebrated the Chinese New Year with the usual River Hong Bao and lights in Chinatown and lots of shopping and post Chinese New Year shopping. There is just no stop in goody gift purchases, food and more retail therapy.
Last weekend, we drove to the east side, along the way by passing Sim's Ave and Geylang. With offices closed and lots of workers having a longer weekend off, it was quite a sight in Geylang area. Many people had flocked to the east side for their favorite since the first few days were mainly closed for business. I took some snapshots while the car was cruising but being night lights i only managed to capture fuzzy shots of Geylang and their popular Karaoke joints, and night life.

Aiyo! Dont go to geylang (unless its for the food) - bad area, you know?? Lots of street walkers - esp at night.
Haha... geylang... It's well known with Liulian, 24 hrs foods (Supper) & others services... the photos you took very interesting... haha :)
hahaha ya Geylang is also notoriously known for its 'prostitutiion' area.. my friend commented my pics had so much 'speed' it looked like we were so scared of stopping there.. hahah but i agree with AKK that the food there is good, man! Like the popular Beef HorFan..yummy! the best is there.
