Lydia Sum dies

I just received the latest news 11.30am 19 February 2008 that Lydia Sum has just passed away few hours earlier in the hospital. She was 60 years of age at that time. Apparently she had been suffering from diabetes and also high blood pressure.

Lydia Sum (left) was reported ill for quite some time since August, 2007. Renowned actress and comedian, Lydia Sum Tin ha was known fondly as Fei Fei to many of us who have watched her act in Hong Kong dramas, and movies. She also starred in a Singapore Mediacorp Channel 5 sitcom, called Living with Lydia.

The news can be found here.

Picture of Lydia Sum was taken from Asian Pop News. This website has news and entertainment about Hong Kong Stars or Cantonese Pop-related stuff.

Yes it is so sad. She was an icon to me in the HK TV world. I remembered seeing her shows when I was little in our 14" Black & White TV back in the 70s! Her hair and glasses were her signature trend.
