Mark Lee on the cover of Reader's Digest

For many of you who have watched Money No Enough, you'd be familiar with Mark Lee, which earned over S$5.8mil for being Singapore's all time highest-grossing films. It was a fluke into Comedy TV and show business, this comedian is now a popular comedian actor despite his pimply face and Ah Beng on screen persona.

I was pleasantly surprised seeing him on the cover on my monthly Reader's Digest in September Issue. In the paperback, he was interviewed about how he managed to get into roles and how he didn't really think much about being a star until Money No Enough made him someone that we all suddenly sit up and paid attention. He didn't really made much impression to me during his small roles in Comedy Nights weekly on TV although he was fondly remembered for his role for being the La Ji Tong 'trash can' man. He was in his late teens and was in the last months of being in his National Service. His benefactor, Jack Neo who casted him into a role in Money No Enough was Singapore's huge success, and following that more shows followed.

If you want to read more about him, you might want to get a copy of Reader's Digest, September's issue. Here's what the cover looks like.
